Master Gardeners are committed to learning and to communicating their knowledge of gardening to others. Master Gardeners will direct their efforts to creating and maintaining an awareness of the need for intelligent stewardship of the environment.

  • Commuity Grants for 2017 have been awarded. We are giving out 13 grants for a total of $4925.00.
  • Classes to become a Master Gardener and applications due by December 19th, 2016. See Trainee Class for application form.
Becoming a master gardener involves lots of learning, but also some hours to "payback" the hours of teaching. Fewer (volunteer) hours are required yearly once you stay in the program. There is a fee of $150 for class materials. Please contact Montgomery County Extension office 540 - 382-5790 for the up to date scoop.
  • NRV Master Gardener Assoc will provide speakers on a wide variety of gardening topics. Remember; "gardening" covers a big range of stuff. If your club/group/school might need a speaker, contact the NRV coordinator at (540) 382-5790
